  We have been taking our two cars to Patten's for some years now and have always been happy with the service. I do agree with a previous commenter that the owner is gruff and when I first went their with my car I thought maybe his attitude was patronising towards women. Then my husband took his car and had the same experience and we realised the owner is just guy who is better at dealing with cars than people. The service has been great value for money and they have never tried to charge us for something that didn't need doing and in fact I think they have been significantly cheaper than most mechanics. Today he spent 15 minutes fixing the battery in my car without charging me. Our neighbours also swear by these mechanics as do everyone I know who use them.

  My family & I have been going to Patten Motors for 20+ years (I now live an hour away and still get my car serviced here!) Shannon and his team are completely trustworthy and know what they are doing - you couldn't ask for any more from a mechanic. For example I told Shannon that I thought my car was due for new tyres (I have no idea how to tell!) and he advised me that I could get another 5-10,000 kms out of them. I suspect a lot of other mechanics would just change the tyres and charge accordingly in that scenario.
  For an honest and great service you can trust these guys, couldn't recommend more highly.
